Meet the Team
Becks Roberts
I love clay - especially porcelain, the sea and the colour yellow! I have been making with clay since I was 15 and after a bit of a journey, I finally realised my dream and graduated with my ceramics degree in 2015. I have been making with it ever since. Based in the beautiful South West of England in Devon, my work reflects my love of the sea and the coastal area around me, with the coastline pieces being my most popular item. I have been putting coastlines on pots since 2017 and these can be personalised with stretches of coastlines that you love and have special meanings for you and your loved ones. I love discovering new places through your orders and hearing your stories behind each place. I have been working here at The Pottery for over 2 years. I really enjoy the challenges of teaching, working with each of my Monday evening students to ensure their visions become a reality. Thanks for reading. Becks x
Tweeny van Mierlo
I used to teach the next generation about the joys of working with clay at a local art college for little over two decades. Whilst the satisfaction of passing on century-old skills never left me, I began to feel constrained by the restrictions of an academic syllabus.
After 8 years lovely years at The Royal William Yard I am thrilled we have relocated to Saltash. This will open opportunities to develop projects closely with the local community. We have been honoured by the warm welcome.
Michele Vaudin
Michele helps with the smooth running of the pottery. She helps out with the general logistics of a busy schedule. When not helping to plan and organise us she can be found behind the scenes prepare for classes, helping recycle clay and often in charge of our lovely slab roller.
Michele runs her own highly successful business, Daisalily Pottery.
