This is an in-depth and focused 5 day Throwing Experience which is held from the 3rd August until the 7th August between 10am and 3pm with a short break for lunch. You will have access to two teachers and the group size will be limited to 6 students.

This practice-based throwing course is aimed at beginners who would like to learn basic throwing skills as well as for those who have some experience of throwing who would like to further develop and strengthen their existing skills.

The course covers:

• clay preparation: wedging techniques, centering clay on the wheel, throwing basic cylinders then moving on to different forms – jugs, vases, plates, bowls etc. 

• practicing your preferred form, throwing to specific measurements, and repeat throwing 

• turning/finishing, pulling and attaching handles as well as some decorating techniques. 

At the end of the week you can choose up to 6 items which we will fire and glaze for you. Additional items can be kept but we will ask for a contribution towards our glaze and electricity bill.
